Tubal ligation - We no longer routinely perform laparoscopic tubal ligations unless it is in conjunction with another surgery that requires general anesthesia. We believe that tubal ligations should be done in the office with minimal sedation and no incision such that pain is minimized and return to work can be achieved the next day. Global thermal ablation for abnormal uterine bleeding - Ablation for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding either removes or destroys the lining of the inside of the uterus (called the endometrium). These procedures have a high rate of success and satisfaction (85-90%). They can almost always be done in the office.
